Success is about achieving desired results.  So if achieving results yields success, why is it that most people don’t use the word “results” when they are asked to describe the characteristics of a business leader?  Instead they typically choose descriptors like “visionary,” “inspiring,” “decisive,” and “driven” – all good competencies, but hardly why we hire a leader.  Good leaders get the job done – they produce desired outcomes.
